Magic … of Dreams
Martin Luther King Jr's iconic speech, “I Have a Dream” reverberates across time and continents. It etched a new direction for America, challenging prejudice and injustice. Curiously, those same four words— “I have a dream” —also dance through ABBA’s melodic refrain, evoking nostalgia from the '70s and '80s. Music, too, carries dreams on its harmonious wings. On achieving something special, I have seen people saying “it is like a dream come true”. Even I dreamt of fairyland, life filled with love and all beautiful relationships. Dreams, are universal.
Dreams—the delicate whispers of our souls—hold immense power. Dreams serve as the bedrock of our aspirations. They ignite purpose, fuelling our long-term focus. Imagine aspirations as Google maps —helping us navigate, in our complex journey of life.
Dreams remain sweet as long as they remain untested. But when we translate them into action, fear tiptoes in. Risk, frustration, and difficulty —these are the hurdles we fear. The gap between dream and execution can feel like a valley.
When dreams falter, blame bounces back — we conveniently put the blame on parents, circumstances, partners, children… the list extends. Yet, perhaps it’s easier to blame external factors than to own our failures. Taking responsibility requires courage.
People harbour diverse dreams: better relationships, successful careers, global influence, personal empowerment, affluence, happiness... and so on. Some remain dreamers, cocooned in their comfort zones. Dream builders venture out, embracing discomfort for growth.
Be specific about your dreams, and refuse discouragement. Life’s storms may shake you, but steadfastness prevails. Remember, every situation yields a result—a stepping stone towards fulfilment of your dreams.
To attain what you’ve never had, do what you’ve never done. True growth lies in uncharted actions. Shed the calculations of age; embrace the experimentation of youth.
In this grand theatre of existence, dreams are our scripts. Let’s play our parts boldly.
The applause awaits those who dare to dream and act!!
